Plant Stand Tips
The addition of a plant stand on your patio will add interest and color. There are a myriad of options, not only for the plant stand itself, but also for the containers, plants and flowers you can display. Here are some tips to help you choose a suitable plant stand.

-
A plant stand for any patio needs to be made from a material that will withstand outdoor conditions, even if the patio is covered. It should be treated for rust by galvanizing, powder coating or painting.
-
Another type of plant stand is often referred to as a basket stand, lined with biodegradable coco fiber. These are great for a natural look, but durable as well.
-
A plant stand is an ideal place to display variations of one sort of plant – an approach that works beautifully when decorating your patio. Examples include different colored petunias, or a collection of impatiens.
-
A plant stand may be used to display interesting grasses and ornaments, not only plants.
-
Use a plant stand at one end of the patio as a focal point.
-
Floor planters are also a variation of a plant stand, only they are positioned closer to the floor.

-
A decorative metal type of plant stand typically holds any size plant containers, or pots. They come in a wide variety of styles and colors.
-
Specialty plant stand versions come in many shapes and sizes. Some examples include oblong shaped plant stand, a tiered plant stand that sits on the floor and extends upwards, and plant stand trees with arms that hold plant baskets.
Patio Decorating FAQs

Q: What is the best material to use for plant
stands outdoors?
A: Mild steel is ideal for plant stands outdoors because it can be galvanized or treated to make it totally weatherproof.
Q: What sort of plants should I display on plant stands outdoors?
A: When selected plants and flowers for plant stands outdoors, be guided by the amount of sun, wind and rain your patio is subject to. Cacti, aloes and other succulents do well in sunny positions. Ferns and flowers like impatiens will thrive in shady conditions in plant stands outdoors.
Q: How often should I water my plant stands outdoors?

A: Again, it depends on the type of plants you are growing and how much sunshine they get. Feel the soil to see how dry it is. If you are using something other than a solid pot for your plant stands outdoors, it also depends on what type of liner you choose. If you are using biodegradable coco liners – these need to be watered more often.
Q: How can I use plant stands outdoors to decorate my indoor/outdoor
patio?
A: First of all choose a plant stand that suits the style of your patio, and then choose containers and plants that fit the genre. If you want to add color to the theme, this is a perfect vehicle to do so, especially with plant stands outdoors.
Q: Apart from the patio, where else could I use plant stands outdoors?
A: You could use plant stands outdoors on your deck, on your porch or even in the garden itself. But preferably only in places where there is a solid surface to place them on.

This stand was well made, looked exactly like the picture and came fully ready to use right out of the box. These single stands are not so easy to find anymore. I would order again.

love this plant stand.
However, I thought it will be a little bigger than it actually is.
I can put only a small to medium size pot in it.
