TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits, 2-Pack
To kill common household ants, simply place the pre-filled, ready-to-use liquid ant bait stations near indoor areas where ants are spotted.
The liquid ant bait stations prevent the bait from drying out and provide the ants with a continuous supply of liquid, day and night.
TERRO® Liquid Ant Baits are specifically designed to kill the worker ant in two to three days, giving the foraging ants enough time to share the bait with the rest of the unsuspecting colony.
How Does It Work?
This is a bait product, so initially you’re going to see more ants — lots more. Here’s why — as ant foragers look for food, they are attracted to the sweet liquid ant bait. Once foraging worker ants find the liquid ant bait, they consume it and drop what is called a ‘trail pheromone’ back to the nest that lets all the other worker ants know where a food supply has been found. This is why you will initially see more ants when using the liquid ant baits.
While the active ingredient in the bait will ultimately kill the worker ant, it interferes with the ant's digestive system and works slowly so that the worker has time to get back and share the ant bait with the rest of the colony, including the queen. This is the only way to get rid of both the ants you see and the thousands you don’t.
This slow kill is needed to allow time for the foraging ants to make several trips to the bait and deliver enough bait to the rest of the colony.
The liquid ant bait station should remain as undisturbed as possible while the ants are actively feeding on it. Because this is a bait product, it is important to eliminate all other food sources in the area. This will ensure that the ants aren’t tempted to eat anything but the (deadly) liquid ant bait.
Where to Place Ant Bait Stations
Simply place the liquid ant bait stations near ant trails or areas where ants are numerous. It’s also a good idea to stop ants in their tracks by placing additional bait stations anywhere ants may try to infiltrate your home.
Keep your eye on the bait stations to monitor activity but resist the temptation to interfere when you witness the ants coming in droves to feast on the bait. Your patience will pay off as you watch your ant infestation dwindle then disappear.
When necessary, replace with additional bait stations when the first set is depleted. Once your ant problem is under control, replace the bait stations every three months to keep the ants from returning.
Preparing Bait Stations for Use
Now that you know how the liquid ant bait actually works and where to place the bait stations, it’s time for the feeding frenzy to begin. Break apart the bait stations, hold upright, cut off the colored part with a pair of scissors, and place the station where it’s needed. In a day or two, your ant problem will be a dim memory.

Amazing.A couple of years ago I had rather large black ants invading my kitchen and some around the front door. I put a few of these around, and within a couple of days I was barely seeing any ants. The past 2 weeks or so, there have been tiny black ants visiting the bathroom, kitchen and around our cats food, so I put one trap (left over from those couple of years ago, at that) in the kitchen and one near the cat food, and I swear, overnight, they were gone! :) These things are great!

Amazon ReviewI'll echo what everyone else has said about this product. It really works. One bit of advice: use only one at a time in a certain place, put it where you think the ants are coming in the house. I've found that if I put extras in a part of the kitchen where there aren't ants at that moment, the trap just sits there doing nothing.

Amazon ReviewWorks! and Fast! I've been living in my current place for a little over and year and a half, and have never seen a single ant. Suddenly, I went from having no ants, to seeing a few, to having a major infestation in less than a week. I'm talking about, ants climbing on the walls, on the ceiling, in my bed, ants everywhere. I tried a different name brand ant bait first, and not only were the ants not interested in it, it seemed to make the problem significantly worse over the two days with the other baits. Last night I got so desperate that I went out and bought a pack of the Terro liquid baits. Within an hour, all of the ants in my whole house seemed to line up eagerly to eat this stuff up, running to tell all of their friends. It was disturbing how many ants were pouring out of the walls to come eat this. Now, 24 hours later, there are only a few living ones left. This stuff saved the day! Worth every penny!

Amazon ReviewAll of the reviews are 100% correct. I was skeptical at first but now I am a believer. This is the only product that works. A couple weeks ago I noticed ants in our kitchen. Just a couple here or there. Not a whole lot. So I went out and bought some Raid Ant Baits. I set 4 out in my very small kitchen. I thought its better to put them all out than be sorry later. Well 4 days later I noticed we had more ants but they were not going away. It didn't even look like they were going by the Raid Baits. I was super frustrated and went online to find out what other products were out there. After reading all the great reviews about Terro, I went out to our local Hardware store and bought an 8 pack. I got home and laid 3 out. I went to bed and when I woke up in the morning there were hundreds of ants all over the kitchen floor. I completely panicked. I read the reviews again and everyone said they would come in droves for the juice and to give it time to work even though you will be tempted to smash them all. I had to tell myself to give it a little longer to work and trust the people who already tested the product. I went to work with the thought I would come home that evening and my house would be completely taken over by ants. Well lucky for me that was not the case. I came home and saw that most of the ants had eaten the poison and apparently had gone back to their nest. There were still some stragglers so I put a couple fresh traps down and when I woke up this morning they were all gone. I'm keeping them out for a couple more days just to be sure they are completely gone. I am amazed. Expect it to take 48 hours to work and do not panic at the site of hundreds of ants. Expect this. The ants need to feast on the poison and then bring it back to the nest so they can kill the queen mother. Resist the urge to kill these ants. It will be super hard to do this but you must. The more that eat the bait the better. I will not use any other brand of ant killer going forward. Don't waste your money on any other product. These are superior!

Amazon ReviewI used this product last summer when I had a bad ant problem on my deck. They were all over the place!!! I put two traps on my deck about six feet apart from each other. It took about 24 hours before I noticed anything, but when they got a whiff of the good stuff, they were hooked. The little freaks formed a cha-cha line between the two traps, going back and forth. They were staggering over each other to get into the traps. It became a source of entertainment. I almost grew a mullet, it became so much fun. By the next day, the party was over. Good stuff.

Amazon ReviewWe live in the middle of the woods so learning to share your home with all sort of critters is just part of life. However, this spring for some reason, we were practically invaded by carpenter ants. I put up with it for about three weeks before ordering a couple of these 2nd day air. The traps were like a magnet, pulling ants out of the woodwork. Four days later--not a single one in sight. Case closed.

Amazon ReviewI can't believe that the positive reviews here are true, but they ABSOLUTELY are. Products that only kill the ants you see force the queen to make more workers, so ultimately you're worse off. The other brands' "ant traps" are a joke -- the ants just walk around them. I did NOT have high hopes for this product, but for $5, I figured "why not?".I'm SO GLAD that I took a chance on this product! I put out the traps and hoped that within minutes the ants would start to swarm. Well, it didn't happen right away (I sat there and watched for several minutes) and I thought, "Rats - I've been duped again!". So I went to the other room to research other ant remedies online. Well, I should have been more patient...I came back to the kitchen an hour later and the ants where EVERYWHERE, COVERING these traps. It looked like hundreds, maybe thousands of them! My spouse wanted to smush them all, but in order for it to work, you need to tolerate the heebie-jeebies for a bit and let them feast on the poison and take it back to their nest.Within 36 hours, the swarm of ants had decreased to a trickle. Within 48 hours, I did not see a single (live) ant moving around. I'm going to leave the traps out for a few more days just in case there are stragglers...but so far, all I can say is WOW!One random side-note: the liquid inside the traps is very sticky. Be careful once you cut open the trap: if you tilt it the wrong way, some of the liquid will spill out, which is no big deal, except that it is very viscous/sticky and a pain to clean up. Also, make sure that no children or pets ingest the liquid, since its active ingredient is Borax.BUY this stuff! Holy smokes!

Amazon ReviewI live in Southern California, and whenever it gets really hot or it rains, ants invade our house. I've tried every brand of ant bait and these are the only ones that the ants actually take. Every other brand that I've tried, the ants just walk right around the bait. With this one, they start eating it within one hour and by three hours, there are several lines of ants taking the bait. Within 24 hours, they're all gone.
