Long lasting and weather resistant, TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus granules kill entire colonies of outdoor ants – including carpenter ants. The bait also eliminates cockroaches, crickets, earwigs, silverfish, slugs and snails, but will not harm beneficial insects such as ladybugs and butterflies.
How it Works
Outdoor ant problems are an annoyance, but they can also lead to indoor ant problems as ants travel in search of food. TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus is designed to kill ants and other pests outdoors, keeping an indoor invasion at bay.
While the active ingredient in the bait will ultimately kill the worker ant, it works slowly enough that the worker has time to get back and share the bait with the rest of the colony, including the queen. A slow kill is needed to allow time for the foraging ants to make several trips to the bait and deliver enough bait to the rest of the colony and the queen — this is the only way to eradicate the entire colony.
Ants are drawn to the sweet ingredients in TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait. The bait, which is borate-based and formulated with a concern for the environment, has a delayed effect on ants.
Easy to Use
TERRO® Perimeter Ant Bait Plus granules are packaged in a 2 lb. shaker bottle, making it easy to spread the granules around the perimeter of your home — no spreader is needed. Long-lasting, the weather-resistant granules won’t break down when exposed to the elements. It will stand up to sunlight, heat or rain, and remain effective until consumed by the ants and other unwanted pests.

I live in Florida and I find this product is the best there is for preventing an invasion. As long as we keep the applications up we have no small visitors.

Works great for me as a lawn treatment. I don't just put it around the perimeter of the house, I put it all over the yard. We had a severe ant problem (small red ants) when we moved to this house, both inside the house and out. By treating the yard with this and using the gel in the house the ants are gone. Since the ant problem was so bad, I actually have to re-treat every two to three months depending on the season. It is still much cheaper than hiring a professional exterminator and I don't have to worry about harsh chemicals around my children.

I think I've tried all the ant control products on the market, and this is the only one that seems to actually work on carpenter ants, which was my problem. The thing to remember is that it takes some time for it to work, and for a short period of time I actually had MORE ants in and around my house. That's because, as the name implies, it's BAIT, and that means it attracts the ants. But they apparently do carry it back to the nest and kill the rest of the colony, because after about two weeks the ant populations dropped dramatically, and after a month they were gone completely. After struggling with carpenter ants for years, I no longer have any problems and just use this around my house whenever they start to come back. Problem solved, finally!

We have used this product for two years now and are very pleased with the results. we have the least ant problems on the block. you can see how the ants instantly start grabbing at the food as soon as we put it out.
