What to Plant in Container Gardens

Flowers and shrubs always look good in container gardens, but if you like the idea of an indoor garden, consider establishing container gardens for your favorite herbs and vegetables – perfect for kitchen areas!

Plant stands, hanging baskets, and floor planters are ideal for container gardens. Biodegradable coco-lined varieties add a natural aesthetic and eco-friendly touch.

Whatever you plant in them, container gardens are so attractive they will find a home in any outdoor space, from the patio or porch, to decks and even areas within your garden.

You can plant flowering perennials and shrubs in container gardens, but annuals can be even more colorful, particularly in multi-purpose planters. You can choose a color-scheme for flower-filled container gardens or mix different colors of one species, pansies or petunias, for example.

Herbs that do particularly well in container gardens include parsley, chervil, oregano and thyme. If the climate is right, include planters with miniature citrus trees and other small trees for a height effect.
